Game of the Week Nominee #1:

Bill Horton (Desert Heat) 73
Jason Cook (Cleveland Steamers) 72

Score before MNF:
Horton 64, Cook 52

Players remaining:
Horton: Chris Chambers, New England D
Cook: Phillip Rivers, Stephen Gostkowski

New England's fumble recovery on the Bills final kickoff return while leading essentially won Horton the game while giving Cook a point on the PAT after the TD it set up. Not to mention it was Gostkowski who recovered the fumble. After the first game it was 73-59 Horton with Phillip Rivers coming one point short of tying things up. Of course if that point had been 25 yards for Chambers, it would have increased Horton's win, but Chambers put up a goose egg.

Horton
QB Matt Ryan 21
WR Bernard Berrian 0
WR Steve Breaston 0
WR Chris Chambers 0
RB Adrian Peterson 31
RB Ryan Grant 10
TE Visanthe Shiancoe 2
K Josh Brown 0
DEF New England 9

Cook
QB Philip Rivers 13
WR Larry Fitzgerald 13
WR Marques Colston 9
WR Kevin Walter 0
RB Joseph Addai 9
RB Jonathan Stewart 5
TE Brent Celek 9
K Stephen Gostkowski 7
DEF Chicago 7

I'm waiting for Gostkowski to get the two points for recovering the fumble tomorrow to lock this up as game of the season.

Nominee #2
Dale Frederick (Never Forget) 90
Matty Ice (Matt Burton) 81

Score before MNF:
Frederick 79, Burton 72

Players remaining:
Frederick: Vincent Jackson
Burton: Wes Welker

Burton got 9 points from Welker in the first game to take a two point lead going into the second game, but Jackson's turning things on late in the third quarter won Frederick the game. If Donovan McNabb hadn't gotten hurt early Sunday Burton may have pulled the win out.

Horton
QB Aaron Rodgers 15
WR Vincent Jackson 11
WR Hines Ward 8
WR Ted Ginn Jr. 2
RB DeAngelo Williams 12
RB Ray Rice 8
TE Dustin Keller 9
K Neil Rackers 12
DEF Minnesota 13

Burton
QB Donovan McNabb 19
WR Calvin Johnson 9
WR Marques Colston 9
WR Wes Welker 9
RB Steven Jackson 4
RB Leon Washington 6
TE Visanthe Shiancoe 2
K Robbie Gould 8
DEF New York 15

Nominee #3
Peter Moir (Bluenosers) 79
Steve Campbell (Osaka Bakas.) 79

Score before MNF:
Campbell 66, Moir 59

Players remaining:
Moir: Antonio Gates, San Diego
Campbell: Phillip Rivers

The member with more players remaining should have an advantage, which was needed being down by 7, but that's often negated when one of your players is a receiver for the other member's remaining player. San Diego's D got off to a good start to bridge the gap, but after the first quarter they didn't tack on until the fourth quarter. Rivers' throws to Darren Sproles on the final drive would have given Campbell the win, but the San Diego hail mary INT created a tie with 3 seconds left in the contest.

Moir
QB Ben Roethlisberger 14
WR Calvin Johnson 9
WR Roddy White 4
WR Miles Austin 10
RB Maurice Jones-Drew 14
RB Reggie Bush 3
TE Antonio Gates 8
K Rob Bironas 5
DEF San Diego 12

Campbell
QB Philip Rivers 13
WR Reggie Wayne 22
WR Chad Ochocinco 8
WR Donald Driver 3
RB Michael Turner 4
RB Ryan Grant 10
TE Visanthe Shiancoe 2
K John Kasay 4
DEF Minnesota 13

Honorable Mentions

Honorable Mention #1
Jamey Dillard (Ragin' Rednecks) 78
Matthew Hardman (Stone Cold Stunners) 76

Dillard had Tomlinson going into MNF, Hardman had Gostkowski. Hardman gets 7 for a 5 point edge and Tomlinson struggles through his game, but pulls out the 7 points for Dillard to win.

Honorable Mention #2
Matt Spencer (Connecticut Cowboys) 81
Bill Richmond (XPLODERS) 81

Richmond had the only player left for MNF, Nate Kaeding. Kaeding got 5 points in the first half of his game, but was silent until 7:22 remained in the fourth quarter when he put through an extra point to make the margin 1 point. With San Diego driving in the final four minutes, an Oakland stop forces a Kaeding FG try to tie the real game and win the fantasy game, but Darren Sproles found the crease for a basically guaranteed tie. Barely outside of the nominees.

Honorable Mention #3
Anders Nilsson (Suzerain) 99
Eddie Fritch (viper) 94

Nilsson has San Diego, Fritch has Tomlinson going into MNF with the score tied 87-87. Heading into the day, LT should outscore the defense is the thinking. After the first half, San Diego has Oakland in check while Tomlinson is starting slow, could be close, but still thinking along the original lines. After the third quarter, LT isn't seeing the field much, but the defense hasn't put things away as Nilsson leads by 1. The late sack and hail mary INT seal things for Nilsson. Game #5 in all likelihood.

I was following that game very closely at work this morning. I would have hated to lose after scoring about 95 points.

My matchup with Tim in the keeper league ended up being a lot closer than I thought. I had both Rivers and Jackson and if the last SD TD had been Rivers passing to Jackson I could have made an unbelievable Monday comeback.

You can now view your league's standings on the ASFL2 website before you can view them in Yahoo., let me know of any mistakes or any points changes.

I'm going to try to create an overall standings page by championship points tomorrow.

It's not possible to have more than 5 ASFL2 teams? Please tell me I didn't make a mistake somewhere.

Week 2 Game of the Week Nominations

Game of the Week Nominee #1
Chad Luik 110
Dan Gettle 108

Heading into SNF, Luik needed 15 from Marion Barber and got to 17 from 14 with Barber's 35 yard run on which he injured himself for the game. Before the run, Barber had 89 yards rushing, afterward he had 124.

Gettle
Schaub 38
S Smith (CAR) 13
Bowe 11
S Moss 1
D Williams 12
T Jones 3
Winslow 15
Longwell 10
Philadelphia 5

Luik
Brees 27
Houshmandzadeh 6
D Jackson 17
Hester 2
Barber 17
R Bush 12
Gates 7
Kaeding 14
Washington 8

Game of the Week Nominee #2
John Marinelli 75
Alex Pacelli 71

The two newest ASFL2 members. Addai and Manning couldn't overcome a 27 point deficit versus the Miami defense because they weren't on the field for a full quarter. Another Manning drive would have done it.

Pacelli
P Manning 24
Boldin 6
V Jackson 20
Walter 0
Forte 4
Addai 2
Olsen 4
Brown 10
Dallas 1

Marinelli
Brady 5
Edwards 9
Coles 6
Moore 0
Peterson 12
McGahee 18
Gonzalez 13
Gostkowski 10
Miami 2

Game of the Week Nominee #3
Lombardo 107
Masse 100

Lombardo entered MNF down 17 with just Dallas Clark left, but the opening play certainly gave him hope from the get go. The Colts final scoring drive gave him what he needed for the win. This came after NYG's D scored 17 in SNF to bridge gap.

Lombardo
Cassel 11
Boldin 6
Marshall 3
S Moss 1
S Jackson 7
Gore 28
Clark 24
Kasay 10
NYG 17

Masse
Ryan 23
Bowe 11
D Jackson 17
Cotchery 8
D Williams 12
Portis 5
Carlson 4
Rackers 8
Atlanta 12

Honorable Mentions (in raw notes form)
-Frederick 93, M Dipinto 91 (all pre-SNF) but Crayton's point for Frederick.
-Miles 103, Carrell 100; Miles survives Eli Manning and Steve Smith combining for 44 points with Folk chipping in 8.
-Henck 72, Hurst 68; Barber gives Henck 17 on SNF (again with Barber's 3 point turn on his final run the difference) then Wayne gets 3 to Addai's 2 on MNF
La Polla 98, Ashe 96; NYG's D's 17 & Bradshaw's 2 on SNF give La Polla the win to overcome Ashe's 5 Saints (Brees, Moore, Bush, Thomas, NO's DEF) [his team name is DASAINTS]. Three 0's for Ashe (Lance Moore, Zach Miller & Pierre Thomas prove the difference).
N Hall 88, Rossetti 88; Hall's 17 NYG D points bring him within two of Rossetti heading into MNF when combined with Kevin Boss' point for Rossetti. Addai manages just 2 points for Hall to call it a draw.
McNair 88, Moir 86; Two points from Miami's D for McNair proves to be the difference. Moir landed right on Yahoo.'s projection.
Morse 82, True 78; Heading into SNF Morse needed 16 to tie, but got 20 from the Giants D (17) and Brandon Jacobs (3) for the win

I am starting to remember why I hate fantasy football. At least 2 of my normal starters are listed as P or Q this week in every team. I wish they could just make their friggin minds up. Most week it simply comes down to who is luckiest/best at predicting who will play.

At least its better that Fantasy Premier League. At least in the NFL you have seperate designations (Probable=75%, Questionable=50%, Doubtful=25%, Out=0%). With FPL you get just questionable most the time or "a doubt" or "late fitness test".
